Module 03 · Coverage
Every open, every click, every clipping you log, in one place.
Per-journalist open and link tracking on every release you send. A tidy home for the coverage you spot. Automatic mention detection is on the roadmap, and we'll tell you honestly what's live today.
What's inside
A coverage view a small comms team actually has time to keep up to date.
Open and link-click tracking per journalist
Every release sent through Press Pilot is tracked. See which named journalists opened the email, which clicked through to the press room, and which forwarded it on. No more guessing whether the pitch landed.
Press room visits
Your branded press room logs every visit, asset download and quote copy. Useful for spotting silent interest from journalists who never reply but always read.
Manual clipping log, made painless
When you spot a piece of coverage in print, broadcast or a paywalled outlet, paste the URL or upload a PDF. Press Pilot files it against the campaign and member, so the board pack writes itself.
Member attribution
Every logged piece of coverage is tied to the member or partner story that drove it. Members get a personal report showing exactly how their submission travelled. Renewal evidence stops being a manual job.
Branded coverage exports
Generate a board-ready PDF or shareable link on demand, in your colours. No more screenshot Tuesday.
On the roadmap, told honestly
Automatic mention detection across thousands of regional, national and trade outlets is the next big build. We'll talk you through what's live today and what's coming so you can plan accordingly.
How it works
From email open to board report, without the cut and paste.
Step 01
Send through Press Pilot
Pitches sent through the platform are fingerprinted and tracked. Opens, link clicks and press room visits flow back to the campaign automatically.
Step 02
Log the coverage that lands
When a piece runs, paste the link or upload the clipping. It gets filed against the campaign and the member who sparked the story. Two minutes per piece, not twenty.
Step 03
Report without spreadsheets
Live dashboards for board, members and funders. Export a clipping book or share a public link. Member-level evidence is ready when renewal season arrives.

Common questions
Coverage, common questions.
Do you do automatic media-mention detection?+
Not yet. Today, coverage tracking covers the engagement we can see directly: opens, link clicks, press room visits, and any coverage you log against a campaign. Automatic monitoring of thousands of outlets is on the roadmap. We'd rather tell you that now than oversell.
What about social mentions?+
Same answer. Social listening isn't a current feature. Most pilot teams pair Press Pilot with a free or low-cost listening tool they already use, and log notable mentions back into the campaign.
Can I import historical coverage?+
Yes. Bulk-import past clippings on day one so your dashboards have history from launch. Your CSM helps with the first batch.
How do members see their own coverage?+
Each member or partner gets a read-only report showing only the campaigns they were part of, with opens, clicks and any logged clippings. Great for renewal conversations and AGM packs.
