Why we built this

A gap that has frustrated members and the people supporting them for years.

On one side: hundreds of small businesses, community enterprises, and local organisations, doing genuinely interesting things, employing real people, shaping their industries. They have stories worth telling. But getting those stories into the press takes time, expertise, and tools they simply don't have.

On the other side: membership organisations, trade bodies, and networks who want to support their members, and who need to demonstrate the value of membership, but who lack a scalable way to collect member content, turn it into publication-ready press releases, and get it in front of journalists.

The result: great stories go untold. Member organisations send annual surveys asking "how can we help?" while their comms teams wade through email threads chasing content and cobbling together press releases in Word documents.

Our story

From the intersection of communities and stories.

The idea came from a career spent at the intersection of communities and stories, working in and around small teams where amplifying under-represented voices wasn't just a principle, but the actual job.

We saw, again and again, that the organisations most committed to championing their members were often the ones most stretched to do it. The goodwill was there. The stories were there. The tools weren't.

We built Press Pilot for the comms manager at a regional chamber who is managing everything from the newsletter to the awards ceremony. For the trade body that wants to put its members in front of national journalists but has no playbook for doing it.
